UTB 120 kW PV Solar Power System

Background information:

UTB 120 kW Solar PV power system: A step towards Green Energy in line with UTB’s commitment to sustainability, the university, in collaboration with Berakas Power Company Sdn Bhd (BPC), has successfully commissioned a 120 kW Solar PV Power System on 30th October 2024. Initiated by Associate Professor Ir. Dr. Ang Swee Peng, this project marks a significant milestone in UTB’s journey towards renewable energy adoption, reinforcing its dedication to Brunei’s clean energy transition.

The system, installed within the university’s premises, includes:

  • 30 kW on the Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) Laboratory Rooftop
  • 30 kW at Ground 1
  • 60 kW at Ground 2

This solar PV system is now fully operational, generating clean energy and contributing to UTB’s long-term sustainability goals. It serves as a real-world demonstration of renewable energy integration, providing valuable insights for researchers, students, and industry stakeholders interested in green energy solutions.
