Welcome to the University Planning and Development Office (PDO), established in 2014 under the Chancellery to oversee the implementation of the University Strategic Plan for 2013-2018. UTB has not only met but surpassed its strategic vision, "To Be Amongst the Best 10 Universities for Engineering and Technology in South East Asia by 2018," achieving the remarkable position of #9 in the QS World University Rankings for engineering and technology in South East Asia in 2017.
As UTB continues its journey, a new vision, "A Global University Impacting Society," was crafted for the Strategic Plan 2018-2023. This vision is designed to amplify UTB's contributions to Brunei Wawasan 2035, fostering the development of future talented graduates poised to make a significant impact both nationally and globally.
Looking ahead to 2025, UTB has unveiled its latest strategic plan for 2024-2028 with the ambitious vision to become the "Global University of the Future." Our mission is clear: to cultivate towering talents for a sustainable, global, and enterprising society, deeply rooted in our national philosophy (MIB) as we strive towards realizing Wawasan Brunei 2035.
The PDO plays a pivotal role in managing university rankings and ratings, as well as monitoring the implementation of the university’s strategic plan. We actively collaborate across faculties, schools, centers, and administrative units to develop enabling strategies, propose solutions, and integrate plans that align with the new vision, propelling the university towards the successful realization of its goals.
