Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) In Electrical and Electronic Engineering

The BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering programme produces graduates who have the professional knowledge, confidence, and abilities to be a practicing electrical or electronic engineer with leadership responsibilities in business and community. Students will learn to develop various systems in the field of electrical power, electronics, photonics, communications, control and renewable energy. This programme also equips graduates with lifelong skills to cope with the challenges of a rapidly changing work environment and to meet local & global socioeconomic needs. Graduates will be equipped with the knowledge and ability to develop electrical and electronic systems, which form an integral part of modern life particularly with the advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and its associated technological innovations.

Aside from the typical BEng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering degree, students can also choose to specialise in one of two majors in their final year, namely Major in Electronic and Communication, and Major in Electrical Power. These majors reflect two key areas of electrical and electronic engineering which contribute to the development of the industry and the nation.

Future Careers

Electrical and Electronic Engineering is a profession that applies science, technology, and problem-solving skills to design, construct, and maintain various electrical and electronic products, services, and information systems. An Electrical and Electronic Engineer will have a wide range of job opportunities such as design engineer, project engineer, research engineer, systems and design engineer, software engineer, to name a few. Electrical and electronic engineers are in demand across a wide range of industries in Brunei, ranging from power supply and distribution, telecommunications, building and plant development. The programme also forms an important base for students who are interested to pursue a future career in research and development, including in academia.
