Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) is an engineering and technology university in Brunei Darussalam that specialises in the niche areas of engineering, business, computing, applied sciences and mathematics, and design. It provides high quality undergraduate, graduate and research programmes that produce graduates in accordance with its vision to be ‘A Global University Impacting Society’.

UTB is committed to providing a healthy, safe, and secure work and study environment for all stakeholder including its employees, students, contractors and visitors. It is also committed to the protection of the environment form any adverse effect arising from its activities.

In order to fulfil these commitments, UTB will:

• Ensure that all Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) legislations are complied with;
• Promote safety-first attitude amongst all stakeholders;
• Provide appropriate facilities and resources to ensure a healthy, safe and secure campus for all stakeholders;
• Ensure that workplace hazards are managed to as low as reasonably practicable ti ensure prevention of safety and ill-health risks and protection to all individuals;
• Provide appropriate information, guidance, instruction, training, and supervision to ensure health, safety and security of all stakeholders;
• Establish a system and assign responsibility for HSSE throughout the University and provide appropriate support to such individuals;
• Communicate HSSE issues regularly with all stakeholders to make them aware of their responsibilities in safeguarding health of individuals, maintaining safety and security on campus and protecting the environment;
• Establish guidelines and procedures to manage emergencies; 
• Review the HSSE Policy every two years or earlier for continuous improvement.

All stakeholders are requires to strictly adhere to this policy.
