Studying abroad presents unique challenges, particularly when adapting to new cultural, social, and religious environments. However, the experience is a rewarding opportunity for academic and personal growth. At UTB, we are dedicated to ensuring that international students feel supported and thrive in a stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
UTB provides extensive assistance to international students through its Student Welfare Unit, helping with essential matters like visa and student pass applications to ensure a smooth transition to life in Brunei. The EXCO International Affairs under the Student Representative Council is available to address any student-related concerns, while international students automatically become part of the UTB International Students’
Club, offering a welcoming community to connect with peers and engage in social activities.
The UTB Global Office plays a crucial role in supporting international students by facilitating their integration into the UTB community and enhancing their global experience. The office also helps promote cultural exchange and international collaboration, ensuring students make the most of their time abroad.
In addition, UTB holds regular Student Affairs & International Students Dialogue sessions to address any concerns and provide International Students updates. To help international students explore Brunei’s rich history and culture, UTB organises outings and trips during semester breaks, deepening their understanding of the local environment.
International students are also encouraged to participate in UTB ExperiencePLUS, which offers industrial attachment opportunities, further enhancing their professional development and enriching their learning journey.
