Welcome Message

A warm greeting from Universiti Teknologi Brunei. Salam Ilal Hijrah 1447. May this year bring more success, joy, and blessings into our lives. Amin.

Alhamdulillah, on 24th October 2024, UTB debuted in the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2025, securing a position in the top 801-1000 among 2,092 institutions worldwide and ranking among the top 23 universities in ASEAN.  It is an impressive accomplishment reflecting UTB’s growing influence in global education. UTB excels in the international outlook pillar, underscoring its commitment to global collaboration. Our THE Impact Rankings 2025 towards Sustainability (SDG1, SDG4, SDG9, and SDG11) also improve. As part of our sustainable efforts, UTB has established the Centre for Green Technology and Sustainability Research (GreenTeXS in short). It is a pioneering initiative dedicated to advancing sustainable development and green technology in Brunei Darussalam. This centre aligns with Brunei’s National Vision, Wawasan 2035, which emphasizes environmental stewardship, sustainable resource management, and the transition towards a green economy. Besides THE, UTB is also measured by Quacqurelli Symonds (QS), and we achieved a ranking of 578 with 9th position among technology and engineering universities in ASEAN.

I extend a warm welcome to our new UTBians, I congratulate you on your admission and the beginning of your higher education journey. Thank you for choosing UTB. Our Vision is Global University of the Future, and expanding our international presence through global collaborations is one of our key initiatives. Our students will also benefit from our strategic partnerships with Canada SEED, Piper, Huawei, UMAP, KUUB,  ATU-Network, CISCO and local industries.

May we have a good year and “Allah SWT is the best of planners” [Al-Anfal (8), 30].

Have a nice day everyone!

Thank you.
