International Opportunities

The Government of Canada has announced the Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED) program to provide opportunities for students from ASEAN member states to conduct short-term study or research in Canadian post-secondary institutions. The Canada-ASEAN SEED program aims to encourage participation in areas that contribute to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

This initiative is being supported by UTB, and the university encourages students to submit applications to participate in the program.

Interested applicant can send their application to CCO (International), and the office will then process the applications to the host university that the student is applying to attend.

Please note that student may apply to the Canadian university as listed on the UMAP website and the following two universities that UTB have signed student exchange agreements with:
1. Brock University
2. Memorial University of Newfoundland
3. Universities listed in UMAP (to be confirmed)

IMPORTANT:
Students must consult the respective Programme Leader before submitting his/her application.

Students are only eligible for nomination if they have fulfilled all of the necessary requirements and criteria. The criteria are as follows:
a) registered full-time undergraduate degree student;
b) pass all previous year’s modules;
c) attained an average of at least 70% and above in the previous year;
d) meet the specific requirements of the host universities or work placements.
* For the Faculty of Engineering, students are expected to achieve Year 2 average of at least 70% and also Semester 5 average of 70% (for Year 3 students)

Please find attached the Supporting Documents Checklist to be submitted to CCO (International) for your kind reference.

Please make sure you send all the required documents and email to cco.international@utb.edu.bn in a zip file and name the file: Canada-ASEAN SEED – fullname, ID number, Faculty/School.

The deadline to send all documents is on 5 March 2023. Any application received after the deadline will not be processed.
