> WORLD DOWN SYNDROME DAY

In conjunction with the ‘World Down Syndrome Day’ (WDSD) the ExCo Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) under the Universiti Teknologi Brunei Student Representative Council (MPPUTB) organised the Lots of Socks Campaign where staff, students, and the public were invited to wear blue or yellow attire with mismatched socks to show support for people with Down Syndrome.

Participants were also invited to express their support and creativity by colouring the Sock Template prepared by the organiser which will be featured in the organiser’s official Instagram - @mpputb_hsse.

Down Syndrome is a genetic disorder caused by the presence of all or part of a third copy of chromosome 21. The WDSD are celebrated to advocate the rights of individuals with Down Syndrome and promote inclusivity for them. WDSD is celebrated globally every 21 March annually.
