In conjunction with the ‘World Autism Awareness Day’ the Exco Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) under the Universiti Teknologi Brunei Student Representative Council (MPPUTB), invited staff, students of UTB as well as the public to wear yellow or gold attire and organised Word Search activity to show support for people with Autism via the organiser’s official Instagram - @mpputb_hsse.
World Autism Awareness is celebrated annually every 2 April which aims to put a spotlight on the hurdles that autistic people and others living with autism face every day. It also goes one step further to celebrate the unique talents of those with autism, while giving a huge focus on the warm embrace and welcome that these skills deserve. This year’s theme for recognizing and spreading awareness for the rights of people with autism is ‘Inclusive Quality Education for All’. In light of this new theme, a new symbol has been created to properly symbolize autism awareness.
