Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) welcomed fourteen postgraduate students for the January 2023 intake with an informative theoretical orientation at the Lecture Theatre 2, Library Complex, UTB.
The new intake comprised of seven PhD students and seven Master’s Degree students from all schools and faculty.
Present as the Guest of Honour was Yang Mulia Dr Mohamad Saiful bin Haji Omar, Acting Vice-Chancellor of UTB. Also present during the event were Yang Mulia Dr Fadzliwati binti Mohiddin, Acting Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Academic); Yang Mulia Dr Au Thien Wan, Acting Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Research); Yang Mulia Awang Lim Chui Hua, Registrar and Secretary of UTB; and Deans of Faculty and Schools.
The one-day orientation began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by a welcoming remark by the Acting Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Research), Yang Mulia Dr Au Thien Wan.
This was followed by briefing sessions held at Fawaz Training Room, Level 3 of UTB Library with the Deputy Dean of Graduates Studies and Research Office (GSRO), Bursar's Office, Student Affairs Office, ICTC, HSSE and Library. The orientation tended with a campus tour and meet-up session with their respective supervisors.
