> UTB STUDENTS WON CYBERSECURITY AWARENESS VIDEO COMPETITIONS (1)

Three students from Creative Computing programmes, School of Computing and Informatics (SCI), at Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) were recently recognised by the Brunei Computer Emergency Response Team (BruCERT) for creating videos that promote online safety.

One of the winners, Azhar bin Mohd Sallih, produced a video titled 'Why You Shouldn't Engage with Scammers', which highlights how individuals can unknowingly reveal personal information when interacting with scammers via text messages.

In the same competition, Abu Khaledi Yussri bin Abu Bakar secured the second position with his video titled 'How Do Passwords Get Hacked'. The video explains the dangers of using identical login credentials for various online services.

Haji Noraslam bin Haji Othman secured the third place with his video on Typosquatting. The video emphasises the importance of verifying website content to prevent accessing unverified websites.

Cash prizes were awarded to the winners by Yang Mulia Maryam Rosli, Senior Administrative Officer at Cyber Security Brunei. The winning videos will be showcased in BruCERT's countrywide public awareness campaign and broadcasted on national television.

Every year, UTB and BruCERT collaborate to foster awareness about online safety concerns and to hone students' video-making abilities. The initiative also encourages creativity among the participants and provides them with an opportunity to display their video on a national level.
