In the Holy Month of Ramadhan, Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), through the Student Affairs Office and Student Representative Council (MPPUTB) continued organising the annual charity drive ‘Ramadhan Drive 9.0’.
This initiative, which began in 2018, is part of the university's ongoing efforts to reach out to the community and lend a hand in easing the burden of those in need.
The Ramadhan Drive 9.0 received BND$7,198.90 and essential food supplies from university staff and students. The donation period lasted for two weeks which began on 9 to 28 February 2026.
Several initiatives were organised under Ramadhan Drive 9.0, including Donation for Underprivileged Families, Program Wakaf, Program Sungkai, and Khairat Donation.
As part of the initiative, the Student Affairs Office and MPPUTB conducted a mass shopping activity for essential items on 5 March 2026 to prepare for the donation packages. The donations were subsequently delivered on 9 March 2026 to 10 selected underprivileged families, particularly those facing financial hardship or health-related challenges. In addition, waqf contributions were presented to one selected school, consisting of useful items such as air-conditioning units, chairs, and wall dividers.
Further activities under the initiative include the Khairat donation presentation during the Ramadhan Nuzul Talk event scheduled on 11 March 2026, as well as the Iftar gathering with underprivileged families on 14 March 2026.
The delegation delivering the donations was led by Yang Mulia Dr Haji Rajul Adli bin Haji Asli, Dean of Student Affairs, accompanied by university staff and student representatives and volunteers.
Through such initiatives as the Ramadhan Drive, UTB continues to foster the spirit of compassion, generosity, and community solidarity among its university community while supporting those in need during the blessed month of Ramadhan.
