UTB proudly took part in a charitable recreation event organised in conjunction with the 30th Civil Service Day, held at the Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar Ali Saifuddien in Bandar Seri Begawan this morning.

During the event, UTB showcased an innovative project on Vertical Rice Farming (VRF), represented by Muhammad Nur Firdaus bin Naik/Kahan, a Mechanical Engineering student. This remarkable display garnered significant attention, as it was visited by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (R) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II, as well as Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad, from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

Representing UTB at this prestigious event were Yang Mulia Dr. Au Thien Wan, Acting Vice-Chancellor; Yang Mulia Dr. Mohamed Saiful bin Hj Omar, Assistant Vice-Chancellor (External & Industry Relations); Yang Mulia Professor Dr. Hasnain Isa, Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovations); Yang Mulia Mr Lim Chui Hua, Registrar and Secretary of UTB; and the Corporate Communications Office.

The university’s participation in this charitable recreation event not only showcased its commitment to innovation and sustainable practices but also highlighted its dedication to community engagement and service. By presenting the Vertical Rice Farming project, UTB demonstrated its prowess in pioneering agricultural technologies, contributing to the nation’s sustainablity goals.
