> UTB INKED MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT AND INFOCOMMUNICATIONS

Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) and The Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC) reinforced their decade-long collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing Ceremony at the Amar Pahlawan Hall, MTIC Building, Jalan Menteri Besar.

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and a Doa Selamat, followed by addresses by Yang Mulia Ir. Awang Haji Mohammad Nazri bin Haji Mohammad Yusof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications, and UTB Vice-Chancellor, Yang Mulia Datin Paduka Professor Dr. Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman.

A presentation highlighting MTIC’s strategic initiatives was given, focusing on the ‘MTIC 2025 Refresh’ Strategic Plan, the Digital Economy Master Plan 2025, the Road Safety Strategic Plan 2025, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Digital Government, and future strategic goals.

The MoU, signed by both the MTIC Permanent Secretary, Yang Mulia Ir. Awang Haji Mohammad Nazri bin Haji Mohammad Yusof and UTB Vice-Chancellor, Yang Mulia Datin Paduka Professor Dr. Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, aims to enhance cooperation in innovation, research, and development. The agreement expands the collaboration scope to include Intelligent Transport Systems, Smart Mobility and Logistics, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Digital Technology, Science, and Innovation.

This renewed partnership facilitates knowledge exchange, data sharing, and the exploration of joint programs, projects, and seminars beneficial to both parties. It marks a significant step in strengthening the synergy between academic expertise and governmental strategic objectives in Brunei’s transport and infocommunications sectors.
