The Local Categories participants of CIPTA 2023 were given the opportunity to attend the CIPTA Bootcamp organised by the CIPTA 2023 committees, facilitated by the Seria Energy Lab. This bootcamp was designed to equip participants with the necessary skills to compete in CIPTA 2023. The CIPTA 2023 judging process will take place in UTB from 16 until 19 May 2023.
The bootcamp commenced with the welcoming remarks by Yang Mulia Allen Jaffran Abdullah Angi, Lead of Exhibition and Education Department of the Seria Energy Lab, followed by an introductory and ice-breaking session.
In the session, Yang Mulia Ir. Dr. Nor Asiah Muhammad, Deputy (Judging) Technical Committee of CIPTA2023 delivered a detailed explanation of the expectations and judging criteria as well as the rubrics that will be used for marking.
Participants were guided through a series of activities led by Yang Mulia Shaima Haji Misli, Science Communicator of Seria Energy Lab, to help them better comprehend CIPTA 2023. Activities included networking opportunity with other participants and the CIPTA 2023 committees. The first activity was on the ‘Two truth and a lie’ followed by persuasion pyramid which provides a clear template for creating an effective pitch. The second activity was on ‘Tell the Tale’, which involved building a pyramid using an elevator pitch and a soundbite to practise participants' story-telling abilities. The bootcamp concluded with a ‘Practice makes Progress’ session in which participants practised their pitches using the persuasion pyramid.
The UTB CIPTA 2023 Bootcamp was organized successfully. The participants gained valuable skills and knowledge and had the opportunity to network with experts and each other.
