Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) organised a religious event to commemorate Nuzul Al-Quran and Majlis Khatam Al-Quran, in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan 1445H/2024M. The event took place at the Universiti Brunei Darussalam Mosque, Tungku Link, Gadong.
The Guest of Honour for the occasion was Yang Mulia Dr Hjh Ena Kartina binti Hj Abd Rahman, Acting Vice-Chancellor UTB. The event was attended by the university’s principal officers, lecturers, staff, and students.
The event commenced with the recitation of verses 9-10 from Surah Al-Isra by Awang Muhammad Naqib Ahzawie bin Mohammad Ali Khairi, a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering student, followed by a translation provided by Awang Muhammd Hadi Firdaus bin Hj Idham, a BEng (Hons) in Mechatronics Engineering student.
Yang Mulia Ustaz Haji Hazimin bin Haji Metali, a Religious Development Officer from the Islamic Da’wah Centre, Ministry of Religious Affairs, then delivered an insightful talk titled “Al-Quran Pedomanku” (The Quran is My Guide).
The Guest of Honour presented a Khairat donation to 44 orphanages during the event.
Following the talk, a mass Zuhr prayer were held, succeeded by the Khatam Al-Quran ceremony.
The Khatam Al-Quran ceremony celebrated the achievement of 29 participants who had completed their reading of the 30 Juz of the Quran and commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by Yang Mulia Professor Mohamed Hasnain Isa, Assitant Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation).
Ustaz Mohd Fazalley bin Haji Hidup, the Head of Religious Unit at UTB, led the recitation of takhthimand Doa Khatam Al-Quran.
The event concluded with Dhikr Marhaban and Doa Selamat.
