22 May 2023 – UTB and Batangas State University (BatStateU), Philippines, announced the formalisation of their partnership through a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that was held virtually hosted by BatStateU.
The event commenced with an opening address from Yang Mulia Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo, the President of BatStateU, warmly welcoming the attendees. Subsequently, Yang Mulia Datin Paduka Professor Dr. Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, the Vice-Chancellor of UTB delivered her remarks, further enhancing the significance of the event.
During the virtual event, signing on behalf of UTB was the Vice-Chancellor, signifying UTB's commitment to the collaboration. On the other hand, Batangas State University (BatStateU) was represented by its President, highlighting BatStateU's active participation and dedication to the partnership.
The MoU serves as a testament to the commitment of UTB and BatStateU to foster academic and research cooperation, promote knowledge exchange, and enhance educational opportunities for students and faculty members alike. This strategic alliance opens avenues for joint projects, collaborative research, faculty exchange programs, and other mutually beneficial initiatives.
Following the signing, a group of seven students from BatStateU will be joining the Mechanical Engineering Programme Area at UTB for a one-semester student exchange programme in July this year. This will enable the students to immerse themselves in a new academic environment and gain valuable cross-cultural experiences.
