A delegation from Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) conducted a benchmarking visit to Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) this morning at the university's Main Conference Room. The delegation was led by Yang Mulia Associate Professor Dr. Hasmadi Mamat, Dean of the Faculty of Food Science and Nutrition at UMS, accompanied by Dr. Jumardi Roslyn, Head of the Food Technology and Bioprocessing Programme, and Dr. Ahmad Hazim bin Abdul Azua, a Lecturer.
The visiting delegation received a warm welcome from Yang Mulia Dr. Hajah Ena Kartina binti Hj Abd Rahman, Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs), along with academicians and administrative staff from the School of Applied Sciences and Mathematics (SASM) and the Corporate Communications Office (CCO).
The event commenced with welcoming remarks delivered by the Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs), followed by an overview of SASM's overall information presented by Yang Mulia Dr. Namasivayam Navarajan, Dean of SASM. Subsequently, Yang Mulia Dr. Phuah Eng Tong and Yang Mulia Dr. Grace Hong Shyang Pei provided presentations on SASM's programme areas, including Food Science and Technology and Agrotechnology, respectively. Dr. Syazana Abdullah Lim then shared insights into the research activities of the Centre for Research on Agri-Food Science and Technology (CrAFT). The visit concluded with a tour of the Food Science and Technology lab, gallery, and campus facilities.
