Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) hosted the Chancellor’s
Trophy 2022 track and field competition for three consecutive days from 6 March 2023 to 8 March 2023. The final event was held today at the Tutong Sports Complex’s track and field area.
The field and track competitions comprised of discus throw, shot put, javelin, 1500-meter race, 800-meter race, 200-meter race, 100meter race, 400-meter race and 4x100-meter race.
Present as the Guest of Honors were Yang Mulia Datin Paduka Professor Dr Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, Vice-Chancellor of UTB; Yang Mulia Dr Hazri bin Haji Kifle, Vice-Chancellor of UBD; Yang Mulia Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, Rector of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA); and Yang
Mulia Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar, Raés of Kolej Universiti Perguruan Ugama Seri Begawan (KUPUSB).
The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat by Yang Mulia Ustaz Awang Mohd Fazalley bin Haji Hidup, Head Ugama Officer of UTB. This was followed by the final competition of track and field for male 4x100 meters.
The event concluded with the announcement of the winners and the prize presentation by the Guests of Honor from the four higher education institutions and photo session.
The Chancellor’s Trophy 2022 aims to motivate the sport’s development, competition and association among Higher Education Institutions. The Chancellor’s Trophy competitions are open to all students and members of the Higher Education Institutions in the Sultanate.
