Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), through the Melayu Islam Beraja (MIB) Unit under the Centre for Communication, Teaching and Learning (CCTL), successfully organised the‘Dandam MIB’ Exhibition 2026, highlighting the role of higher education in cultivating graduates who are not only academically and technologically competent, but also firmly grounded in Brunei Darussalam's national philosophy and values.
Held at the UTB Multipurpose Hall and the Faculty of Engineering Building, the exhibition served as a platform for students to demonstrate their understanding of MIB through innovative and creative exhibits, while reinforcing the relevance of the philosophy in addressing contemporary societal, technological, and developmental challenges.
The exhibition represented the culmination of a group project under the MIB Module, involving first-year students from the Faculty of Engineering, UTB School of Business, School of Computing and Informatics (SCI), School of Applied Sciences and Mathematics (SASM), School of Design (SDe), and CCTL. A total of 60 exhibition booths were presented by 413 students, showcasing diverse interpretations of MIB through interactive displays, educational presentations, and practical applications that connected traditional values with modern aspirations.
As Brunei Darussalam advances towards the goals of Wawasan Brunei 2035, the exhibition reflects the importance of developing human capital that is knowledgeable, highly skilled, innovative, and guided by strong ethical principles. Through collaborative learning and experiential projects such as Dandam MIB, students are encouraged to strengthen critical thinking, communication, creativity, and leadership capabilities while maintaining a deep appreciation of their cultural identity and national responsibilities.
The exhibition also underscored the enduring relevance of MIB as a framework for nurturing responsible citizens and future professionals who can contribute meaningfully to national development, social cohesion, and sustainable progress. By integrating the values of MIB within multidisciplinary learning environments, UTB continues to support the nation's aspiration of producing globally competitive talent that remains rooted in Bruneian values and heritage.
Visitors, including academic staff, officers, students, and invited guests, had the opportunity to engage with the exhibits and explore how the principles of MIB can continue to inspire innovation, responsible leadership, and community development in an increasingly dynamic global landscape.
The‘Dandam MIB’ Exhibition 2026 reflects UTB's commitment to producing holistic graduates who combine academic excellence, technological competence, and strong character, in line with the aspirations of Wawasan Brunei 2035 to achieve a well-educated, highly skilled, and accomplished nation.
