On October 10, the world observes World Mental Health Day, which aims to raise awareness of the stigma associated with mental health and promote positivity for mental health advocacy. This year’s theme is ‘Making Mental Health & Well-Being for All a Global Priority”.

In conjunction with the World Mental Health day and in recognition of the importance of increasing mental health awareness and literacy at UTB, the Counseling Unit in collaboration with UTB ExCo Leadership, Development and Mentor (LDM); ExCo Publicity and Info-Communication Technology (PICT); ExCo Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE); ExCo Economy and Entrepreneurship; and Campus L.E.A.D SCI and UTB School of Business, organised the 'Mental Health Awareness Week 2022,' which took place from 17 October to 22 October 2022.

A series of events and various activities took place during the week which includes Counseling Unit exhibition, booths, Mental Health and the power of board games, talks, arts and crafts booth, fitness activities, workshop, wellness booth, Projek Kemudi exhibition, RespectME exhibition.

A series of talk featuring various speakers which include Yang Mulia Major (B) Rusli bin Bujang, President PERKAB, Founder of Empowerior Consultant; Yang Mulia Dr Haji Shahrol Azmi bin Haji Abdul Muluk, Dean Student Affairs of KUPUSB; Counselling Officer from Public Service Department; and Yang Mulia Dayang Suzi bin Haji Saji, Counselling Officer, Ministry of Education were held during the week.  

This awareness campaign hoped to empower both UTB staff and students to make a difference by encouraging open and honest conversations and driving a genuine connection between people who can make a positive impact by connecting with friends, colleagues, and loved ones.

The Mental Health Awareness Week 2022 concluded with Self Exploration through Art Therapy Workshop.
