Two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) and Mitsubishi Corporation (MC). The signing ceremony took place at the university's Main Conference Room, signifying a significant collaboration between the two entities.
Signing on behalf of UTB was Yang Mulia Datin Paduka Professor Dr. Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, UTB Vice-Chancellor, and representing Mitsubishi Corporation was Yang Mulia Mr. Tadashi Hara, Country Representative of Mitsubishi Corporation.
The event commenced with remarks by the signatories of the MoUs.
The first MoU focuses on the sponsorship of five UTB students by Mitsubishi Corporation this year, the sponsorship amounts to BND 10,000 in total. This sponsorship aims to support the academic journey of deserving students, providing them with financial assistance to pursue their educational goals. Notably, Mitsubishi Corporation had previously granted the same scheme of sponsorship to five meritorious UTB students on 9 August 2021, showcasing their ongoing support for UTB's student community.
The second MoU entails the donation of an Electric Vehicle (EV) by Mitsubishi Corporation to UTB. This donation will serve as a remarkable asset for the university, enabling students and academic staff to engage in EV-related learning, research, and innovation. It also demonstrates Mitsubishi Corporation's commitment to supporting sustainability initiatives and fostering innovation at UTB and Brunei Darussalam.
These MoUs represent a strengthened partnership between UTB and Mitsubishi Corporation, highlighting the joint efforts in promoting education, research, and sustainable development. The collaboration aims to provide improved educational opportunities for students, drive technological advancements, and contribute to the growth and development of UTB and Brunei Darussalam as a whole.
