His Excellency Professor Dr. Chemm Kieth Rethy, Minister Delegate Attached to the Prime Minister of Cambodia presented a lecture at Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) on Education in the Era of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), held at the Lecture Theatre 2 of the university.
Present as the Guest of Honour of the event was Yang Mulia Dr Haji Azman bin Ahmad, Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) at the Ministry of Education.
The event commenced with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat followed by a lecture by His Excellency Professor Dr. Chemm Kieth Rethy. The lecture was moderated by Dr Malai Zeiti Sheikh Abdul Hamid, Assistant Professor, Centre for Communication, Teaching and Learning (CCTL), UTB.
The event proceeded with a question-and-answer session allowing the audience to engage with the presenter. This was followed by the handover of approximately 29 books donated by the Royal Embassy of Cambodia, which acompassed a diverse range of topics, including culture, cuisines, education, politics and foreign relations, science, history, and more.
The event concluded with the inauguration of the ‘Cambodia Corner’ at UTB library.
Also in attendance were His Excellency Mr Lim Hokseng, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Royal Embassy of Cambodia; Her Excellency Nahida Rahman Shumona, High Commissioner of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to Brunei Darussalam; His Excellency Professor Dr Hamit Ersoy, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkiye to Brunei Darussalam; His Excellency Abel Guterres, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste; and Dr. Hajah Ena Kartina binti Hj Abd Rahman, Acting Vice-Chancellor of UTB.
