Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) held a Majlis Khatam Al-Quran for its students in conjunction with the 14th UTB Convocation Ceremony 2026 at Masjid Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah.
The ceremony was attended by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid, Minister of Development and Deputy Chairman of the UTB Council, as the Guest of Honour.
Also in attendance was Yang Mulia Associate Professor Pengiran Dr Mohamad Iskandar bin Pengiran Haji Petra, Vice Chancellor of UTB, together with senior officials, academic and administrative staff, members of the Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar, parents and guardians, and invited guests.
The Majlis Khatam Al-Quran brought together 158 UTB students, comprising 61 male and 97 female students, who had successfully completed their recitation of the Holy Quran with tartil in accordance with the prescribed programme.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, led by the Guest of Honour, followed by the recitation of Surah Ad-Dhuha to Surah Al-Masad. The programme continued with Bacaan Takhtim, Doa Khatam Al-Quran, Dzikir Marhaban, and the presentation of Khatam Al-Quran certificates to the participating students, followed by Doa Selamat.
The programme also emphasised the role of the Quran in nurturing students’ spiritual and moral development, strengthening their faith and helping them distinguish between right and wrong, while developing noble character, discipline and a sense of responsibility.
The Majlis Khatam Al-Quran was one of the activities organised in conjunction with the University’s 14th Convocation Ceremony 2026, reflecting UTB’s continued commitment to supporting the holistic development of its students through academic excellence alongside strong spiritual and moral values.
The University also expressed its appreciation to the Guest of Honour, the organising committees, UTB staff, the Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar, parents, guardians and all parties who contributed to the successful conduct of the ceremony.
