In conjunction with the 9th UTB Convocation 2021, a total of ninty-four (94) participants took part in the Khatam Al-Quran ceremony which was held at the University Mosque, Tungku Link, Gadong.
The participants comprised of twenty-four male and seventy female graduands from Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree.
Present as the Guest of Honour was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman, Minister of Education. Also present at the ceremony was Yang Mulia Datin Seri Paduka Dr. Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Deputy Minister of Education; Yang Mulia, Professor Dr. Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, Vice-Chancellor of UTB; along with MOE Permanent Secretaries, Deputy Permanent Secretaries, UTB Principal Officers, staff and students of UTB.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Yang Mulia Dr. Mohamad Saiful bin Haji Omar, Assistant Vice-Chancellor of UTB (Industry & Services). This was followed by the recitation of Surah Ad-Dhuha until Surah Al-Masad by the graduands led by Yang Mulia Awang Mohammad Musa Bin Haji Ibrahim, graduand from Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
The event then proceeded with Takhtim, and the Doa Khatam Al-Quran recited by Muhammad Fauzan bin Haji Salleh, graduand from Bachelor of Computer Network and Security.
The ceremony concluded with Dikir Marhaban and a Doa Selamat read by Imam Mohammad Amirul Rahmad bin Haji Mohammad, Imam of the University Mosque.
The Majlis Khatam Al-Quran is a part of the series to celebrate the students who have successfully completed their studies and will be graduating in the upcoming UTB Convocation that will be held on Saturday, 12 February 2022 at the Plenary Hall, International Convention Centre (ICC), Berakas.
