The 3rd International Research Conference on Science and Technology (IRCST) 2022 was organised by the Illoilo Science and Technology University (ISAT) in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Brunei, Brunei; Chandigarh University, India; Bugema University, Uganda; Kumasi Technical University, Ghana; and Kibabii University, Kenya.
The event was held virtually via Zoom for two consecutive days from 28 to 29 November 2022 with the theme Science and Technology Research: Embracing Seamless Solutions.
The conference began with the Vice-Chancellors and Presidents of the organising universities delivering their words of welcome including UTB Vice-Chancellor, Datin Paduka Professor Dr. Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman.
On the second day, two UTB PhD students undertaking Food Science and Technology from the School of Applied Sciences and Mathematics presented their projects.
In session A, Syazwan Sulaiman presented his project on ‘The effect of biochar from plant materials on agricultural acid sulfate soil’. Whereas in session C, Siti Madihah Mohd Don, presented her project on the ‘Fermented Plant-Based Beverage: The Physicochemical Properties’.
