School of Design of Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) organised an annual Architecture Programme Exhibition – Industry Exhibition held at the Exhibition Gallery of School of Design, UTB. The exhibition will take place for four (4) consecutive days from 4 to 7 July 2022.
The Industry Exhibition was officiated by the Guest of Honour, Yang Mulia Professor Dr. Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, Vice-Chancellor of UTB. This was followed by a tour of the 30 student projects exhibit.
The showcase exhibits the third-year students projects undertaking Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Architecture on Eco-Campus and Agro-Market of Tang Salangan for the year 2022.
Tang Salangan is a joint project of UTB and the Majlis Perundingan Kampung (MPK) Tungku Katok. The project is located at Simpang 239, Kampung Tungku Katok, Bandar Seri Begawan. The site was involved in two projects proposed by the students of BSc (Hons) in Architecture as Project for Community in Brunei Darussalam: The Eco-Campus 2022 and the Agro-Market in 2021.
The students' projects were divided into two stages; pre-design and the schematic design. During the first stage, students investigate the project site, photographing and documenting its context and natural environment. They brainstorm ideas for exploring the Eco-Campus and Agro-Market based on the site and user needs. In the second stage, the students created Architecture designs and 3D models in response to environmental and user requirements.
The site will become a live project for UTB faculty and students to conduct research and study through the Environment, Leadership, Technopreneurship, and Social Innovation (ELTSI) module. The Industry Exhibition is open to public from 4 to 7 July 2022 from 9 am to 3 pm at the Exhibition Gallery, School of Design, UTB.
