As part of UTB Orientation Week 2022 programme, the Student Affairs Office and the UTB Student Representative Council (MPPUTB) organised several volunteer activities for the new intake, staff and students of the university.

Aligned with the university’s vision of becoming ‘A Global University Impacting Society’, the programme is for the students to make an impact in the community by participating in the community outreach activities as well as to equip the students with skills beyond classroom settings.

The new students were exposed to a variety of community service and volunteer activities in the hopes of honing their social skills and providing them with the opportunity to contribute to and make a difference in the lives of others and the community. Lecturers and staff from the university's various departments, faculties, and schools also participated in the volunteer program, which ran from 22 to 23 July, 2022.

The activities include several donation drives which include Mengkubau, We are One by Youth Against Slavery Brunei (YASBrunei), La Vida for the underprivilege; Cleaning campaigns at Pusat Kaca, Pengkalan Batu Mosque, Bengkurong, Tanah Perkuburan Pulaie, and Muara beach; Play Date at Pusat Bahagia, Pusat Ehsan and Pusat Kegiatan Warga Emas (PKWE).

Other volunteer activities also include Mural Painting by SMARTER (Society for Management of Autism Related issues in Training, Education and Resources) Brunei; Farming at Eco Ponies Garden, Tutong; Brunei Darussalam National Association of the Blind (BNAB) Simulation, Jari-Jari Ku Sign Languageand BIBD Tree Planting in UTB.
