> GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY FOR UTB NEW EXTENSION BUILDING PHASE 4

Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) held a Groundbreaking ceremony for the new extension building of phase 4, School of Applied Sciences and Mathematics (SASM). 

The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by the call of Adhan and recitation of zikr to bless the ceremony led by Yang Mulia Awang Mohd Amin bin Haji Salim, Officer of the Mosque Affairs Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs.

The groundbreaking ceremony was then officiated by the Guest of Honour, Yang Mulia Dr. Haji Azman bin Ahmad, Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) as personal representative of Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Dr. Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md Salleh, Minister of Education(MoE). 

Also present were Yang Mulia Datin Paduka Professor Dr. Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, UTB Vice-Chancellor; UTB principal officers; senior officials from MoE, Ministry of Finance and Economy (MoFE), and Ministry of Development (MoD); appointed consultants; and staff of the university.

After the groundbreaking ceremony, there was a presentation of the proposed phase 4 building accompanied by an exhibition viewing.

Under the 11th National Development Plan, the proposed School of Applied Sciences and Mathematics building will span an internal floor area of 10,317 square meters, housing a variety of facilities, including eight laboratories, modern classrooms, a lecture hall, conference and seminar rooms, meeting rooms, and offices. Completion of the building is expected to be completed by 25th March 2024.
