> GLOCAL ENGAGEMENT THROUGH STAKEHOLDERS

UTB’s mission and advocacy ensures that students’ learning experiences translate gained competencies to life-sustaining opportunities while upholding the values of versatility, integrity and perseverance. UTB actively forges alliances and cooperation through the influx of Memoranda of Understanding/Agreements, establishing service pathways with relevant universities, organisations and industries. This strategic approach fortifies the academic community robust and equips graduates to navigate various work contexts adeptly.

Key to UTB's commitment is the dynamic Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) Lab, serving as a nexus for innovation and global engagement. Complementing this, the Professional Bodies Unit reinforces connections between students, academic programmes, and relevant professional organisations. Dr Mohamad Saiful bin Hj Omar, Assistant Vice-Chancellor for the External and Industry Relations, actively seeks opportunities to ensure that the university’s academic programmes align with global standards and industry expectations.

UTB ensures that its academic programmes cultivate key competencies essential for success, such as critical thinking and adaptability. Through continuous engagement with industry stakeholders, UTB ensures its curriculum remains relevant and prepares graduates for diverse professional environments, empowering them to thrive both locally and globally.

The STI Lab, a hub of transformative technological advancement, offers a wide array of industry-recognised certification courses tailored to equip individuals with the necessary skills for success in the digital era. The specialised labs in campus, such as the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Lab, Huawei ICT Academy, Cisco Networking Academy, Sand Screen Retention Testing Lab, and Material Testing Centre, offer students hands-on experience and exposure to cutting-edge technologies shaping the future.

UTB’s substantial commitment and investment in upgrading laboratory facilities, tools, and digital resources is indicative of our pledge to provide cutting-edge educational experiences. These resources ensure that our students are proficient in the latest industry practices and technologies, positioning them with a significant competitive edge upon entering the workforce.

The Professional Bodies Unit at UTB complements the STI Lab by connecting students and academic programmes with relevant professional organisations and certification bodies. This ensures that UTB graduates are not only academically proficient but also possess credentials highly sought after by employers, facilitating their smooth integration into the workforce. UTB’s strategic partnership with esteemed organisations, such as Pertubuhan Ukur Jurutera & Arkitek (PUJA), Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and other industry organisations, align academic endeavours with industry standards, offering students significant opportunities for professional growth and success.

This synergy exemplifies UTB's unwavering commitment to fostering glocal (global and local) engagement, preparing individuals with the necessary skills, knowledge, and connections to excel in an interconnected world. As UTB evolves and innovates, it remains dedicated to attracting forward-thinking students dedicated to shaping the future and contributing meaningfully to society.
