Yang Mulia Dr Hjh Wida Susanty Suhaili, Senior Assistant Professor and Director of the Centre of Transport Research at Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), has been awarded the Winner of the UL Research Institutes’ ASEAN-U.S. Science Prize for Women 2025 in the Senior Scientist Category. The award ceremony was held at the Jubilee Prestige Hotel, Ratchadapisek, Bangkok, Thailand.
This year’s theme, “Generative AI for Smart Water Management,” highlights the transformative role of generative artificial intelligence in tackling critical water-related challenges. It recognises research that utilizes AI to promote smarter, more sustainable, and resilient water management systems.
Dr Hjh Wida’s award-winning research, titled “Smart Water Management Systems Using IoT for Disaster Management and Food Security in Brunei Darussalam,” integrates Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and AI-driven approaches to strengthen disaster preparedness and ensure water security for sustainable food production. Her innovative work reflects Brunei Darussalam’s commitment to advancing science and sustainability in line with the nation’s long-term development goals.
