On the 49th birthday of His Royal Highness Prince (Dr.) Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Ibni Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, Pro-Chancellor of Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) and Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), a Doa Kesyukuran ceremony was held at the University Mosque located at Jalan Tungku Link.
Present as the Guest of Honour was Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Dr. Dayang Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md Salleh, Minister of Education, Brunei Darussalam. Also present were Yang Mulia Dr. Haji Azman bin Ahmad, Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) of Ministry of Education; Yang Mulia Dr. Dayang Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin, Permanent Secretary for Core Education at the Ministry of Education; Yang Mulia Dr. Hazri bin Haji Kifle, Vice-Chancellor of UBD; Yang Mulia Dr. Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, Rector of UNISSA; Yang Mulia Datin Paduka Professor Dr. Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, UTB Vice-Chancellor; senior officials; lecturers; staff and students of the universities.
The ceremony commenced with mass Maghrib prayer and Sunat Hajat followed by the mass recitation of Surah Yassin led by Yang Mulia Mohammad Amirul Rahmad bin Haji Mohammad, Imam level III. Doa Kesyukuran was then read by Yang Mulia Mohamad bin Haji Bagol, Mosque Affairs Officer. The ceremony concluded with mass isya Prayer.
