UTB received a courtesy call from the Office of the United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator (RCO) led by Ms. Karima El Korri, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei Darussalam.

Together with Ms. Karima El Korri were Dr. Richard Marshall, Senior Economist; and Ms. Juanita Joseph, Head of UN Resident Coordinator & Strategic Planning, UN RCO in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei Darussalam.

The entourage was welcomed by UTB Vice-Chancellor, Yang Mulia Datin Paduka Professor Dr. Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman; Assistant Vice Chancellor (Academic), Dr Hajah Ena Kartina binti Haji Abdul Rahman; Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Research), Dr Mohamed Hasnain Isa; Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Industry and Services), Dr. Mohamad Saiful bin Haji Omar; and Director of Corporate and Communications Office, Hajah Dayang Siti Asmahlati Bolkini Haji A. Ahmad.

During the visit, Ms. Karima and her colleagues shared some of the UN development system and the role of the UN Resident Coordinator Office particularly in Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei Darussalam. Other topics discussed also include Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) related work by the university; prospects for increased youth engagements; and tripartite opportunities through the multi-country Office of the Resident Coordinator; among others.
