UTB received a courtesy visit from the Housing and Urban-Rural Department (HURD) of Guangxi led by Professor Dr Yang Lufeng, Director-General, PartySecretary-General. The visit was held at the Main Conference Room of the university.

Together with him were Fu Bo, Director, Personnel and Education Division; Wang Xioming, Director, Housing Guarantee Division; Yang Dongyuan, Director, Construction Market Supervision Division; Liu Zhe, Director, Urban Construction Division; and Liu Hongming, Director, Science and Technology Division.

Welcoming the delegation were Yang Mulia Dr Au Thein Wan, Acting Vice-Chancellor of UTB; Professor Dr Mohamed Hasnain Isa, Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation); Dr Heru Susanto, Director of Centre for Innovative Engineering (CIE); Dr Ismawi bin Hj Md Yusof, Acting Director of Corporate Communications Office (CCO); Dr Wida Susanty Hj Suahili, Director of Centre for Transport Research (CfTR); Pg Dr Rafidah Pg Hj Petra, Deputy Director of CIE; Dr Ang Swee, Deputy Dean (Industry and Services) Faculty of Engineering; and Dr Wendy Pei Qin Ng, Deputy Director of CCO.

The event commenced with a welcoming remark by Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), followed by the CIE research profile presented by the Director of CIE.  Subsequently, Professor Dr Yang Lufeng presented the HURD of Guangxi Zhuang Research Profile on Green Technology and Sustainability. This was followed by discussions on research collaborations between CIE and HURD on Green Technology and Sustainability. The visit concluded with tours to the EV charging station and Pearl Gallery. 

The purpose of the visit aims to gain insight into the innovative research, ongoing projects, talent development, and industrial collaboration at UTB's CIE. Additionally, it seeks to engage in detailed discussions on a range of topics including engineering innovation, digitalisation, building materials, smart construction, and China-ASEAN cooperation in housing and architecture. The visit also intends to conduct a comprehensive study tour of the research centre, allowing participants to explore facilities, laboratories, and gain an understanding of equipment, technical support, and research conditions.
