A delegation from Brunei Fertilizers Industries (BFI) Sendirian Berhad, led by Yang Mulia Dr. Harri Kiiski, the Chief Executive Officer, paid a courtesy visit to UTB this morning. The meeting was held at the Amethyst room of the university. Accompanying Dr. Kiiski were Yang Mulia Hjh Nur Raihan DP Hj Mohd Rosli, Acting Deputy Chief Executive of BFI; Yang Mulia Jormasnizar Jormasie, Head of Talent Management of BFI; Yang Mulia June Goh, Creative Content of BFI; and Yang Mulia Mohammad Hisyam Idris, Stakeholder Relations of BFI.

The BFI delegation was warmly welcomed by Yang Mulia Dr. Hjh Ena Kartina binti Hj Abd Rahman, Acting Vice-Chancellor of UTB; Yang Mulia Professor Mohamed Hasnain Isa, Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation); Yang Mulia Dr. Mohammad Hazwan Azri, Programme Leader of Petroleum and Chemical Engineering; and Yang Mulia Dayang Serina Hj Mohd Ali, Director of Corporate Communications Office.

The purpose of this visit was to establish a strategic partnership between BFI and UTB, aimed at enhancing educational experiences and advancing research opportunities. Both institutions explored avenues for mutually beneficial on-site experiences, including inviting distinguished experts for lecture series and workshops to facilitate knowledge exchange. Additionally, a discussion was made about engaging in joint supervision of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Projects, providing students with valuable mentorship from seasoned professionals in the industry.

Furthermore, the partnership explored opportunities for collaborative research and consultation projects, aimed at addressing industry challenges and fostering innovation.

The partnership is expected to culminate in the exploration of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalise the collaboration and solidify the commitment to mutual growth and development.
