> COFFEE CHAT WITH THE HIGH COMMISSIONER OF CANADA

Over fifty staff and students sat down over a cup of coffee and had an informal virtual conversation with Her Excellency Madame Jeanette Stovel, High Commissioner of Canada in Brunei Darussalam at the Coffee Chat Session.

During the session, Her Excellency gave an overview of the Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED) and shared what the students need to know to study in Canada, from advice on choosing the university to guidance on applying for the scholarship and the study life in Canada.

Her Excellency explained that SEED is a short-term scholarship programme for Southeast Asia students to conduct short term study or research at any Canadian institutions in areas related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. She mentioned that there are about 125 scholarships that will be offered this year from around the ASEAN region. "The duration will be four to eight months for undergraduate level and four to six months for postgraduate level," she added.

Interested candidates were advised to apply for the scholarship as early as possible and to consult with the UTB's Corporate Communications Office on the application process.
