> CLOSING CEREMONY FOR THE ASIAN INTERNATIONAL MOBILITY FOR STUDENTS (AIMS) PROGRAMME AND BRUNEI ODYSSEY 2025

Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), through the UTB Global Office, held the Closing Ceremony for the Asian International Mobility for Students (AIMS) Programme and Brunei Odyssey 2025 this morning held at the university’s library.

The event celebrated the completion of mobility activities involving both inbound and outbound students under the AIMS Programme, as well as the successful conclusion of Brunei Odyssey 2025, UTB’s flagship summer programme designed to provide international participants with an immersive academic, cultural, and environmental experience in Brunei Darussalam.

Present as the Guest of Honour was Yang Mulia Datin Paduka Professor Dr. Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, Vice-Chancellor of UTB.

The event began with the recital of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat, followed by a welcoming remark delivered by Yang Mulia Dr Wendy Pei Qin Ng, Director of the UTB Global Office. This was followed by a remark delivered by Yang Mulia Dr Denni Kurniawan, Programme Leader of the Mechanical Engineering Programme Area, who expressed appreciation for the collaborative efforts between partner institutions and UTB in supporting student exchanges and enriching academic experiences.

Inbound and outbound student representatives also shared their reflections and words of appreciation. Speaking on behalf of the inbound participants from Batangas State University (BatStateU), Yang Mulia Mr. John Paul Mercado Anyayahan conveyed heartfelt gratitude for UTB’s warm hospitality and the enriching academic and cultural experiences gained throughout the programme.

This was followed by appreciation remarks from Yang Mulia Ms. Alliana Carylle Medrano Villanueva and Yang Mulia Dayang Ruza Vivie Ainaa binti Abdullah, who represented the Brunei Odyssey 2025 cohort.

A multimedia presentation then showcased the highlights of both AIMS and Brunei Odyssey 2025, capturing memorable moments of learning, collaboration, and cultural exchange.

The event proceeded with the Guest of Honour presenting the Certificates of Completion to students of the AIMS UTB Student Exchange Programme, followed by the presentation of Certificates of Participation to the Brunei Odyssey 2025 participants.The ceremony concluded with a group photo session and refreshments.

UTB continues to strengthen its international collaborations and expand mobility opportunities to ensure students gain global exposure, academic enrichment, and cross-cultural competencies that support their personal and professional development.
