> BOOK LAUNCHING CEREMONY FOR THE PORTFOLIO: AN INSIGHT TO CREATIVE COMPUTING PROJECTS

The Book Launching Ceremony for the Portfolio: An Insight to Creative Computing Projects was held this morning at the Lecture Theatre 2 of the university. Present as the Guest of Honour to officiate the Ceremony was Yang Mulia Datin Paduka Professor Dr Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman.

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat. This was followed by a Welcoming Remark by the Programme Leader of Creative Computing Programme Area of School of Computing and Informatics (SCI), Yang Mulia Awang Ibrahim bin Edris. The Guest of Honour then officiated the book launching of the Portfolio.

Also present during the ceremony were: UTB Principal Officers; representatives of the sponsors from Cyber Security Brunei (CSB), and Brunei Computer Emergency Response Team (BruCert), and staff of the University.

The portfolio comprised of all Creative Computing Programme Area Students Final Year Projects. The initiative began with the first graduating cohort of BSc (Hons) in Creative Multimedia and BSc (Hons) in Digital Media in 2017. This marked the launch of the 6th edition of the Portfolio.

For every edition, different students were chosen to be the editor-in-chief and is given the creative freedom in designing the theme and layout of the Portfolio.

The editors for this 6th Edition include Dayang Rida Nurdini binti Awang Haji Ibrahim and Dayangku Nurul Asyiqin binti Pg Norarffin graduate from the Creative Multimedia Programme; and Dayang Adillah ‘Izzati binti Haji Suhaimi graduate from Digital Media Programme.

This annual publication acts as a creative portfolio for graduates to promote their abilities and creative talents to relevant stakeholders. It also allows prospect employers to visualize their talents for job opportunities. It also hopes to inspire future generations on the possibilities of what may be accomplished while simultaneously supporting the Creative Computing courses.

This publication also aims to help strengthen the Creative Industry in Brunei, adding values to locals who specialises within these niche areas and create networking opportunities within the community.
