The Embassy of the Republic of Korea to Brunei Darussalam presented a book donation to Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), the handover was held this afternoon at the UTB Library, Library Complex, Phase 3, UTB.

The event commenced with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat followed by a Welcoming Remark by Yang Mulia Datin Paduka Professor Dr Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, UTB Vice-Chancellor and speech from His Excellency Kim Soung-Eun, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Brunei Darussalam.

The event proceeded with the launch of the ‘Korea Corner’ at the UTB library, followed by the handover of about 160 books and some educational and cultural forms of media were donated by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Brunei Darussalam to UTB which span a range of topics including Korean culture, economy, language, history, advancement and more.

This contribution marks a significant milestone in the promotion of cross-cultural understanding, academic exploration, and intellectual growth at UTB as well as strengthening bilateral cooperation and forging long-term partnerships.

In addition to the book donation, UTB has also recently launched a new system of Library Management system and Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC). This achievement signifies a big step forward in the expansion of the university’s library services. The new system improves the management and tracking of the library’s collection, streamlines operations, and increases accessibility for both library employees and visitors.

With these significant strides in both resources and infrastructure, UTB embarks on a promising journey towards holistic educational development, nurturing intellectual minds, and promoting cultural diversity. The Embassy of the Republic of Korea's invaluable contribution and UTB's unwavering dedication to enhancing library services lay a solid foundation for a brighter and more enlightening future for all especially UTB staff and students.
