> BOOK DONATION AND CULTURAL EXCHANGES BY THE EMBASSY OF THE SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM IN BRUNEI DARUSSALAM AT UTB

The Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Brunei Darussalam presented a book donation to UTB this afternoon at the University's Library Complex, Phase 3, UTB.

The event commenced with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat followed by a Welcoming Remark by Yang Mulia Datin Paduka Professor Dr Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, UTB Vice-Chancellor and speech from His Excellency Tran Van Khoa, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Also in attendance were Her Excellency Sengdayanh Vongsay, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic to Brunei Darussalam; and Her Excellency Nahida Rahman Shumona, High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Brunei Darussalam; UTB Principal Officers; staff and students.

The event proceeded with the launch of the ‘Viet Nam Corner’ at the UTB library, followed by the handover of about 50 books donation from the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Brunei Darussalam to UTB.

The event then proceeded with cultural performances by the Embassy of Vietnam which took place at the Lecture Theatre 2 of Library Complex, UTB.

Following that was the cultural dialogue session entitled ‘Application of Technology and Communication in the Field of Cultural Industry, Creative Industry and Production of National Cultural Products’ by Associate Professor Dr. Dinh Hong Hai, Cultural Anthropology Specialist from Vietnam National University (VNU). This session was moderated by Dr Malai Zeiti Abdul Hamid, Assistant Professor of Centre for Communication, Teaching and Learning (CCTL), UTB.

The event concluded with question-and-answer session.
