UTB welcomed the new Student Representative Council (MPPUTB) members for the 2024/2025 academic year via a handover ceremony held at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the university.

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah in the presence of the Guest of Honour, Yang Mulia Dr Mohamad Saiful bin Hj Omar, Acting Vice-Chancellor of UTB.

A farewell speech was then delivered by Yang Mulia Awangku Muhammad Rafiuddin bin Pengiran Saharuddin, the former President of MPPUTB session 2023/2024, followed by the handover of Presidential post and Student Representative Council book guidelines.

The newly elected President of MPPUTB session 2024/2025, Yang Mulia Dayang Aliyah binti Haji Kamarul Amir Ariffin, then delivered her speech. She emphasised the culture of ' tidak camah mata' to be practiced among the council members. To conclude her speech, the newly elected President said, “We will stay committed to championing the needs of our diverse student body. With your unwavering support and trust, I am confident that together we can realise our vision of a thriving campus environment. A healthy, happy one”.

This was followed by the handover of appointment letter to Student Representative Council 2024/2025 and a video presentation highlighting the previous batch of Student Representative Council 2023/2024.

Subsequently, the ceremony recognised the outgoing members of MPPUTB session 2023/2024, who received certificates of appreciation from the Guest of Honour for their dedicated service throughout the year.

The event concluded with the new council members of the 2024/2025 session reciting their ceremonial pledge and the recitation of Doa Selamat.

Since its establishment in 2011, UTB has held an annual ceremony to officially introduce the new members of the Student Representative Council to UTB students and staff. The selection process for these members includes a challenging orientation camp to assess their capabilities and familiarise them with their tasks, roles, and responsibilities as new leaders.
