ACCA ENGAGEMENT SESSION

> ACCA ENGAGEMENT SESSION

23 October 2021 – More than fifty undergraduate students from the UTB School of Business (UTBSB) attended an engagement session with ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) organised by UTBSB.

The engagement session that was delivered by representatives from the ACCA Malaysia office was divided into two parts. The first part, ‘ACCA Accelerate Programme,’ was presented by Mr. Peter Gabriel, giving an overview of ACCA and the benefits of the Accelerate programme.

Meanwhile, in the second part of the session on ‘ACCA Syllabus Structure (Strategic Professional) & Exam/Study Support,’ Mr. Spencer Cheah shared the types of examinations and syllabuses that the students are expected to undertake.

During the session, the students were encouraged to consider the ACCA as part of their accounting professional qualifications. A special arrangement has been made between ACCA and UTB that allows students to register the Accelerate programme at a reduced fee and to undertake the exams while completing their undergraduate degree.

Mr. Cheah highlighted that students would gain a potent blend of skills and experience when taking ACCA qualifications during their studies, making them instantly attractive to potential employers.
