UTB participated at the showcase and exhibition of the 18th National Youth Day 2023 with the theme ‘Future Ready Youth’ held at the International Convention Centre (ICC), Berakas.
His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Chancellor of UTB consented to attend the event, during which he also visited UTB’s showcase.
The UTB showcase presented various exhibits, including the UTB Huawei Academy, CISCO Networking Academy, and AI Machine Learning. Additionally, it featured projects by PhD and undergraduate students from the School of Applied Sciences and Mathematics. Notable projects among them were 'Development of Herbal Bread Pasta by Upcycling Unsold Breads' by Dk Nurun Najeebah Az-Zahra binti Pg Dato Seri Paduka Hj Mohammad Tashim and 'Rice Syrups Derived from Broken Rice and Purple Rice' by Shofiya Haq binti Ahmad Dimyati.
Together with His Majesty were His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, Pro-Chancellor of UTB, and other royal families. The Vice-Chancellor of UTB, Yang Mulia Datin Paduka Professor Dr. Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, was also present.
