10 September 2020 – A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) and Micronet International College was signed to entail the UTB – Satellite Partners (SP) Bridging Programmes, which is a Bridging Programme in Computing offered by Micronet. The signing ceremony was held at the Function Room of Micronet International College Jerudong Campus.
The MoA was signed by Professor Dr Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Hj Sulaiman, Vice-Chancellor of UTB and Mr Sylvester Yong, Managing Director of Micronet. The signing was witnessed by Dr Dayang Hjh Noor Maya binti Haji Md Salleh, Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Academic), UTB, and Ms Sharon Chin, General Manager of Micronet.
Also present at the ceremony were Principal Officers of UTB and Micronet Staff.
The signing ceremony proceeded with a certificate presentation by the Vice-Chancellor of UTB to eight BriCOMP students who have completed their 14-week programme at Micronet.
Under this agreement, Micronet International College offers a 14-week duration of Undergraduate Degree Entry Pathway to post A-Level students who fall short of minimum points for admission to Computing undergraduate degree programmes at UTB, namely BSc (Hons) in Digital Media, BSc (Hons) in Creative Multimedia, BSc (Hons) in Computing (Major in Software Development), BSc (Hons) in Computing (Major in Data Analytics), BSc (Hons) in Computer and Information Security and BSc (Hons) in Computer Networking. This programme aims to provide students the fundamental knowledge and skills in studying the programme.
Upon completion of the Bridging Programme in Computing successfully, students will join UTB into the first year chosen Undergraduate Degree Programme.
Last April 2020 Intake, Micronet launched the first intake of UTB 14-week BriCOMP programme and eight students completed the programme and received their admission to the first year Undergraduate Degree Programme at UTB. The next intake for BriCOMP programme will commence on April 2021.
