In Aug 2018, UTB has become the first and only university in Brunei Darussalam to be awarded.

 

QS Stars systems audit and measure the student experiences and universities’ teaching and research quality, facilities, and services using over 60 different indicators.

There are 209 universities evaluated by QS. Only 42 universities are Five Stars rated and 11 universities are Five Stars Plus.

  • The QS StarsTM Rating project started in 2015.
  • Between 2015-14, the PDO conducted various analysis on UTB data and facilities.
  • In July 2017, the PDO submitted UTB data to QS for audit.
  • In Sept 2017, UTB was awarded four Stars Rating by QS.
  • In May 2018, QS invited UTB to submit 12 additional data for the new program strength category introduced by QS in the QS Stars.
  • In Aug 2018, QS upgraded UTB’s QS Stars rating to five stars making UTB, the first and only 5 Stars University in Brunei Darussalam to receive such recognition.
  • UTB is awarded a maximum of five stars for Teaching, Employability, Internationalisation, Facilities, Social Responsibility and Inclusiveness.
  • UTB also obtained three Stars for Program Strength in Computer Science and Information Systems and two Stars for Research.

With this rating, it puts UTB alongside some of the very best universities in the world.
