> BruHealth QR Codes

8th September 2020

Assalamualaikum

Dear staff and students,

We are pleased to inform that with reference to the Ministry of Health’s (MOH) Media Statement on 3rd September 2020, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented for changes in the reduction of the social distancing measures implemented following the COVID-19 outbreak in the country, as follows:

  • Increasing the capacity for Mass Gathering from 200 people to 350 people, where the Guidelines is available in the MOH’s website.

With reference to the same Media Statement pertaining to the use of the BruHealth app during the de-escalation stage, all staff and students are reminded to continue using the BruHealth application to scan the QR codes upon entering and exiting UTB premises.

It is now COMPULSORY for the public to scan the BruHealth QR codes upon entering and exiting any premises effective Monday, 7th September 2020.

All staff and students are urged to take the usage of the BruHealth application seriously, especially in scanning the QR Code as it is used by the MOH for contact tracing purposes in the event of an outbreak of infection.

While on campus, staff and students are also required to practice social responsibilities by maintaining good personal hygiene and practising proper cough and sneeze etiquette.

In this regard, UTB BCP would like to remind staff and student to comply with all regulations and directives related to the reduction of social distancing measures that have been issued by MOH. Any individual found to be in violation of or disobey any order issued shall be an offense under the Infectious Diseases Act (Section 204), which if found guilty can be issued compound fine up to $5,000 or can be prosecuted in court carrying a fine up to $10,000 or imprisonment up to 6 months or both. MOH will not hesitate to take legal action against anyone who does not comply with the directives issued.

Thank you for your kind attention and continuous cooperation.
