8 February 2020 – The Career Guidance Unit of the Student Affairs Office hosted a Women Entrepreneurship Sharing Session at the University campus.
The session featured three female speakers comprised of a PhD student from UTB and two invited speakers which include the founder of the Mayang Couture and also a UTB student, Nurul Izzati Naqibah Zaidi; Founder of Big BWN Project, Womennovation and Brunei Young Entrepreneur Project; and Co-Founder of Brunei Womenpreneur Network, Noorhafizah Rashid; and Founder of KAVA Streetwear and Co-Founder of Seni Moda, Siti Nazmah binti Haji Abdul Samad.
At the session, Nurul Izzati Naqibah Zaidi talked about ways to jump start business and adapt technologies to share her experiences on how to become Industry 4.0 ready. Meanwhile, Noorhafizah Rashid, spoke on dealing with challenges when starting up a business. Siti Nazmah binti Haji Abdul Samad shared on the opportunities of doing fashion business in the country.
The session concluded with a mini showcase of their fashion products.
The event aimed to promote students to venture in the world of business while hustling through their university life, raising awareness on Industry 4.0 technologies, and encouraging fashion designers and enthusiasts to venture into the modest fashion business in Brunei.
