08 MARCH 2018 – Yang Mulia Dr Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) attended the International Women’s Day Forum, which was organised by the High Commission of Canada to Brunei Darussalam. The Guest of Honour at the Forum was Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Paduka Hajah Hayati, the Attorney General and a UTB Council Member.

The event began with the welcoming remarks by the High Commissioner of Canada, followed by the Opening Keynote by the Guest of Honour.

The event continued with a panel discussion on ‘Empowering Positive Change: From Learners to Leaders’. The panel members include Yang Mulia Datin Dr. Dayang Hajah Anita Binurul Zahrina binti Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Wijaya Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Aziz, Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Brunei Darussalam; Yang Mulia Dr Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, Vice- Chancellor of UTB; Ms Mariyani Abdul Wahab, Head of Woman and Child Abuse Investigation Unit, Royal Brunei Police Force; Captian Sharifah Czarena Surainy Syed Hashim, Caption & Pilot, Royal Brunei Airlines and Mr Paul Taylor, CEO of Profesif Cellular as the moderator.

Another panel discussion entitled ‘Breaking through: How Women Entrepreneurs Drive Economic Growth’ where leading Businessmen and women discuss the growth of women entrepreneurship in Brunei and abroad, and how women in business have become an important economic force. The panels include Aimi Ramlee, Co-Founder of Tyne Solutions; Siti Kamaluddin, Director of Origin; and Yau Soon (Soon Loo), CEO of Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB). The moderator for this session was Ain Bandial, The Scoop.
