8 July 2020 – With the current new normal, Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) welcomes new Undergraduate and Postgraduate students with an online orientation, from the registration process to orientation week activities. More than 300 new students have registered to study undergraduate programmes, and postgraduate programmes.

This year, the orientation programme organised by the Student Affairs Office and the UTB Student Representative Council (MPPUTB), will be delivered through an online platform where new students are required to register for designated activities where attendance are compulsory.

As part of welcoming the new intake, pre-recorded videos and other resources which include the Vice-Chancellor’s Address; Messages from the Assistant Vice-Chancellors as well as virtual campus tour were being uploaded especially for the new students. Briefing through a series of videos and presentation slides from various faculty, schools and departments; and quizzes about the orientation were also prepared and accessible online to give the newcomers more information and familiarisation of the university.

Other interesting activities include series of talks comprised of motivation, counselling, religious, entrepreneurial, career guidance, Melayu Islam Beraja (MIB). The Orientation also includes UTB 3KM Virtual WaWalk and Run, and the Volunteer Programme as part of the free flow orientation programme from 6th – 25th July 2020.
