UTB STUDENTS LEAVE FOR RESEARCH TRAINING IN TOKYO, JAPAN

3 April 2019 – TWO students from Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) left the country for two months to do a training at the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) in Tokyo, Japan under the UTB-Centre for Innovative Engineering (CIE) and NICT-Science Cloud collaboration.

The tranining at NICT will be hosted by the Director of NICT Science Cloud, Dr. Ken T. Murata. The students include Dayang Shiqah Natasya binti Muhammad Hadi and Awang Abdul Muizz bin Haji Kassim.

The training will provide the students with the opportunity to undergo an extensive research in a well-established organisation under the guidance of CIE and Science Cloud, to have a hands-on training on recent advances such as high-performance video transmission (HpVT) protocol, computer vision and learning technology.

The collaboration between CIE and Science Cloud, NICT is aimed to promote research activities between the two research groups. Both parties look for activities that will create useful output such as joint projects and joint publications.
